Paprika Sweet Potato Fries

Everyone has their recipe for Sweet Potato fries.  In fact, I can just imagine the number of Pinterest options for how to make them “perfectly”. There are so many techniques, and honestly, mine is a very straight-forward and simple one. The real difference that matters is the paprika seasoning.  In terms of making the fries, there are ways to make it crispier, you could fry them, and you can soak them before hand if you like.  If you already have your favourite recipe, I recommend having a look at the seasoning and incorporating it into your usual recipe.    Because I will never know why more people don’t use paprika with sweet potatoes!

Baked Paprika Sweet Potato Fries (3-5 sides)

  • 5 medium sweet potatoes, skins on
  • 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Turn the oven on to 450F or 210C

Run the sweet potatoes under cold water and scrub the skin for a bit, to make sure completely clean

Cut potatoes in half repeatedly until you get 1/4 inch sections, about the size you expect a fry to be.

In a bowl or a ziplock bag, add the paprika, salt and pepper, sweet potato and oil and toss to coat as much as possible.

Line a baking tray and spread out the sweet potatoes so they cook evenly.

Bake for 20 minutes at the top rack.

Take out and let cool at least 3-5 minutes before serving.
