I have to admit that Baked Camembert is one of my favourite treats, especially when people are over. It is so easy and you can change it up by adding anything you want to the Camembert – cranberry jam for Christmas, Pecans and brown sugar in the fall.
But the classic Baked Camembert in my house, because it is the most popular with everyone, is Thyme and Garlic Camembert. It is so easy but it looks beautiful! As you can see above, it takes very little effort to prepare it and have it look beautiful. More importantly it is so gooey and delicious after:
Gooey Garlic Baked Camembert
- 1 250g wheel of camembert in wooden packaging
- sprig of thyme
- 1 clove garlic
- pinch of salt
Preheat the oven to 180C (350F)
Remove plastic or cloth packaging from camembert and place back in half of the wood shell (as above)
Cut six small slits throughout the top of the camembert
Slice clove of garlic into six slivers
Stuff each slit with a sliver of garlic
Break up the sprig of thyme and insert next to the garlic
Sprinkle with a touch of salt
Cook for 30 minutes
Enjoy with bread or Crudités! I hope you love it!
